On Saturday, November 17, 2007 Deanna Leal and Daughter Jasmine Leal (8 years old) were killed when they were thrown from their vehicle in a devastating accident. Six others were injured at this time.
Lanaya Leal who is just 9 years old, was also thrown from the vehicle and is currently in the hospital with life-threatening injuries including swelling of the brain. It is not known at this time if she will be able to withstand surgery that is needed to save her life.
Adriana Leal (5 years old), Trinity Leal (3 years old) were also injured in this accident.
Aaron Leal loving brother to Joseph Leal and loving Uncle to Jasmine, Lanaya, Adriana and Trinity has established a memorial fund to provide much needed assistance to this family during this incredibly tragic and difficult time.

Jasmine's viewing was held November 25, 2007.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 26, 2007 after which Jasmine will be laid to rest next to her Mother, Deanna Leal.
Status Update

Lanaya is expected to be released from the hospital 11.26.2007 but will require extensive follow up medical care, physical therapy to help with recovering the ability to walk again and assistive medical devices, including the use of a wheelchair and special bed.

Adriana has been released from the hospital! She continues to recover from her extensive injuries at home.
Lanaya is still in the hospital at this time.

The girls have been upgraded from ICU to the pediatric floor!

Lanaya had surgery on her arm today and remains in the hospital. She is still in critical condition at this time. She still suffers from swelling in her brain and has a broken pelvic bone.
Adriana also had surgery today, to make repairs to her skull and is now in stable condition.
Both girls are expected to make a full recovery.
